Nourish Your Heart . . .
Remember my ‘soul food’ resolutions from the last post? This has been such a fantastic experience.
You know that phenomenon that happens when you make a decision, commit to something, and the universe seems to conspire to gift you with even more of what you are seeking? And in unexpected ways?
Yes, that’s exactly what happened.
Recently I had the privilege of sharing a cup of coffee and conversation with two amazing women. In the course of our conversation, they shared several stories of their combined 146 years of life experience with me. As we all know, life can present us with significant physical, emotional and financial challenges. Jane and Ingur certainly have had their share, perhaps more than.
What touched and nourished my heart?
Here they were, sitting across from me, beautiful smiling eyes, eloquent, honest and humorous in the telling of their stories, still excitedly engaged in life, continuing to learn, taking on new challenges, creativity flowing, walking on the beach in the mornings . . . loving life, and thriving! I was in awe of them. Incredible resilience! Their wisdom, insights and humour touched my heart and inspired me to lighten up, but also dig deep regarding my current challenges. We are meeting again for coffee in a few weeks. I treasure every moment I get to spend in their company! You can bet this was on my gratitude list that evening!
The painting on silk art class was wonderful. The weather was fabulous so we were able to work outside on the studio deck. Two days of colour, blending, brush strokes and learning 12 different techniques, in the company of two lovely women!
Fiddle playing!! I am very excited about this. I’ve been meeting my goal of at least 15 minutes 5 days a week. At first it was terrifying! But, I persevered through what my daughter referred to as the ‘Jack Benny’ stage, and I can definitely hear my progress. Yay! Not yet Stephane Grapelli, but moving in that direction.
I am also on track with consistently doing my daily evening gratitudes. In fact, as you have read, this whole exercise has given me even more to be grateful for!
Your turn. I’m really looking forward to hearing your experiences that have nourished your hearts in the last few weeks!

Do any of you use greens or whole food powders to make sure you are getting your quota of greens everyday?
Consumer Labs did a recent analysis and report on powdered greens used to make green drinks.
Three of the 10 they tested had high levels of lead: All Day Energy Greens, Inner Light Super Greens and Nature’s Way Alive! Whole Food Energizer Ultra Shake Vanilla also had cadmium. Consumer Labs stated, “This is not the first time ConsumerLab.com has found lead contamination in “greens” powders.”
Now even if you carefully read the labels, they wouldn’t tell you this. That’s the benefit of using pharmaceutical grade products – what’s on the label is precisely what’s in the container – nothing less, nothing more. This is one reason I am so confident in the product line I recommend to my clients.
I usually have a homemade blended green smoothie daily. My favourite is organic parsley and cilantro, slice of fresh organic ginger, 1/4 banana, 1 tsp fibergy, 1 tsp organic cold pressed olive oil and a squeeze of lime . . . mmmm. Getting my greens fresh and safely.

Nourish Your Mind . . .
I’m reading a super book called The Compound Effect right now. I have found several excellent ideas that we can apply directly to our efforts to improve and sustain our health and lifestyle habits! More on that in the next post.
Till Then, Be happy, Be Healthy!
